[RC] What is a "reasonable pace"? - susan cooper

Since I am a Newbie who has yet to do a ride (planning on Square Nail in March), just what is considered a "reasonable pace"?  I am currently riding my green, 6yo 1/2 Arab, 1/2 TWH on mostly Jeep trails, some deep sand washes, mostly flat desert about 9-10 miles 2 to 4 times a week and it takes me about 2 1/2 hours.  This is easy for her, and I am ready to continue the same distance, and bump up the amount of trotting/gaiting  with only an occasionaly canter thrown in.  Her resting HR is 34, walking (3-4mph) HR is 70, trotting (7-8mph) HR is 160 which drops to 70-80 within 2 minutes of walking.  We always walk the last mile home, and when I dismount, her HR is down to 50.  So is 9-10 miles in 2 1/2 hours considered a "reasonable pace"?  Will this get me a finish in an LD in 6 hours?

Thanks,
