[RC] electric fence - Stacy Baxter

OK, I am one of those using electric fencing.  Let me explain why.  I have a two horse trailer, so hi-ties are not the best idea because the two horses would have to be on opposite sides of my (small) trailer.

I could tie them, but again, I would have to tie the horses on opposite sides or make the ties VERY short or they will get tangled.   I usually ride with a friend and her mare, and I really don't want to have our two horses THAT cozy.

Panels would be nice, but I would have to be able to put them up myself, and they would have to be able to be attached to the outside of my (small) trailer without those head bonking supports that jut out from the side of the trailer.  (Talk about an eye gouger.)  Putting them on the top of my trailer by myself would be just too comical.

My horse is respectful of the electric fence, the only time I have had a problem, was when my friend's horse was rolling and rolled into the bottom strand.  Now we both use only one strand.

The last ride I went to, I could not sleep well and spent a good portion of Saturday night watching my horse.  He moved around A LOT, he ate, he went to the opposite side of the pen, he returned, he rolled, and pretty much utilized the entire pen.  I think this was good for him to be able move around so much after a tough ride.

You bet, I will take suggestions for other confinement, but so far, what I have read here on ridecamp would not work for me.
