You can alter the Edge's HRM for a horse with Roger Rittenhouse's
transmitter adapter kit. http://www.vmaxept.com

You might prefer the Forerunner 305, though. It's a wrist mounted unit
and is very similar to the Edge. I use the Forerunner 305 and love it.
I have Roger's adapter kit and the HRM works very well. GPS reception
is excellent; much better than previous units.
