Re: [RC] Comstock 50 - D'Arcy Demianoff-Thompson

Well I normally don't cry, especially tears of joy, when reading my email.  That "superb horse" is none other than Little Diego (Tio Diego x Valaba) bred and raised by my daughter, Katie Carter, trained by myself and Lynnda Hunsperger (Silver Springs, NV).  Lynnda also trained Tio Diego (El Tio x Patrician) and put multiple championships in Costume, English, and Western.  Tio Diego  was Katie's first stallion and Valaba was her first mare.  Tio Diego being a Witez II grand get!  "Now you know the rest of the story!"

Katie never would have sold Little Diego, a year ago, if it wasn't for the fact that Colton displayed soo much dedication, kindness, and consideration, at such a young age.  Colton reminded me so much of Katie when she was his age (Katie is now 30).  We were concerned about Little Diego going out to do endurance at his age.  However, we knew from the manner in which Colton conducted himself with Little Diego that we would never have to worry about Little Diego suffering unnecessarily one day of his life.

Colton is an exceptional young man.  I have been riding with Colton a few days out of the month while conditioning the mare I want to take endurance next year.  Colton rides my 30 year old Terre Joy (trained to second level dressage).  We go about 5.5 miles at a time up and down some rather steep hills, here in Placerville, to which Colton never gets anxious or disgruntled (as I have seen so many kids do over the years).  There has not been a ride yet that I have ever come back thinking "I wish I hadn't done that."

If ever there was an argument that the future of our industry lays in the heart of the children...Colton is a testament to that argument!  It is obvious to those that know Colton's parents where this young man's desire and roots come from.  However, for those who do not know, look up the Ride Stats on Tamara Medeiros and Matt Medeiros.  Truly awe inspiring and, no doubt, footsteps that Colton will have no problem following.

Thank you, Dick and Carolyn for solidifying what Katie and I believed to be true when the decision was made to sell Little Diego to Colton.  Go Colton and Little Diego~  You have done us proud!

What a neat, well spoken, polite, and competent endurance rider.  His 18 year
old arab gelding was a superb horse.  Well behaved, trained, sane and good
mover. >>
