[RC] Men in dressage/lead changes - Jennifer Adam

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8T3AcvnEuMw

My 5 year old son is home sick from school today, so he was sitting on my lap as we watched the dressage video together. He watched the flying lead changes in complete fascination and said, "Mommy! You never told me horses could skip!" I asked if he would like to ride like that someday, and he turned to me with his big blue eyes and said very seriously, "Oh no, Mom. I am a boy. I ride tractors, not horses." He has ridden several times and always enjoys it, so when I reminded him of this he just shook his head. "That's okay for fun, Mom, but not for real." So I pointed out that many men ride professionally. I used as examples disciplines more familiar to him- cowboys, jockeys, etc - and he said "I know. But *they* don't ride skipping horses!"

Sigh. I have my work cut out with this one... Someday a horse crazy wife may thank me... LOL :P
