Re: [RC] brake controller - Don Huston

Hello Dawn,
"Inertia controlled" means that there is a pendulum inside that moves forward when you hit the brakes. There is a sensor that reads the pendulums movement and increases the voltage to the trailer electric brakes which activates the brakes. The harder you brake the farther the pendulum moves and applies more braking to the trailer. It's a good system but still requires fiddling with the settings when changing from fast highway to slow town to gravel.

I was at Trucksmart and saw for $159 a Draw Tight brake controller that is "inertia controlled". Is this worth investing in replacing my regular one? I'm not sure how it works. Input?

Thank you!
Dawn
