And the whole point of the NAIS is to be able to trace the progression of a number of infectious and communicable diseases to their source in an efficient and effective manner to control the spread and eradicate it if possible.

If we should have an outbreak, of say Foot and Mouth in Kansas for instance, it will be much more efficient and less disruptive if we can trace the disease progression through the specific individuals that infected animals may have come in contact with, as opposed to quarantining and testing every animal that could be infected in the state of Kansas.

Effective containment and eradication if possible. Modern technology applied to agriculture, but not Rocket Science or "Big Brother is watching"!
