Just a passing comment...I was fortunate to attend a performance at San 
Francisco's Cow Palace in the early 1960s where I saw Sheila Varian beat all 
other entrants at reining stock horse with her mare Ronteza.  All 
contestants worked cattle in the ring.  Ronteza slipped at one point but 
recovered herself so fast that Sheila was never unseated and the mare went 
on about her job.  She was the ONLY Arab in the class.
