Hi Kathy,

It sounds like you might have a great Endurance horse in the making. Just remember that even though he may be fully grown, he is NOT fully conditioned structurally if he's only been under saddle with consistent riding for 9 months. Do not let his talent mask the fact he still needs another 1-3 years of work. His cardio-vascular development is the fast part. That's been done. Treat any 50's you do for the next year or so as conditioning rides. When his tendons, ligaments and bone have been toughened up, if you've gone slowly, you might well have a monster 100-mile horse on your hands. :)
