My ex-horse was supposed to be over his spooking with
his breeders and previous owners, too. I worked with this horse for 3+
years and finally gave it up. When I phoned his previous owners and asked
if the horse had behaved this way with them, they said yes, but they thought
they had him over it. Well....it all came back with me as his new
owner-rider. He needed a more confident rider than I was/am.
Thanks to everyone for their replies. I do wear a helmet...always
no exceptions.
Just to clarify one thing. I am sure this is a behaviour that I
created as he was previously trained by a VERY accomplished horsewoman and
endurance rider.
