[RC] TWH....are then pinfired? - Barb PeckI tried not posting on this topic because the whole thing just makes me so angry. The poor TWH. They're also used for the big (hunting) dog trials- and I have a few friends who have hunting dogs- and they've taken in a few of the 'used TWHs" when the riders don't want them any more. When some are trained- they shock them (usually remote control) to train them not to spook. It's a wonder the poor animal doesn't just colic and die from their treatment. The whole humane thing is probably better now than it was when I was a kid (when they cut the muscles in the tails and "set" them) - or when they'd whip up an animal in the stall ( Arabs got alot of that treatment) just before the halter classes - but I think there's still a long way to go.
