[RC] hocks? - Juli Jakub

I have a four year old Morab that I have a question about....She has swelling in her hocks...outside of it right in the dish of the hock. It comes and goes both legs...somedays worse, somedays not there at all. But the size of a quarter or a little bigger. Sometimes more filled and looks bursting, sometimes not there at all and everything in between. When pressed it disappears for a while and then slowly fills back up. She also has just been started in harder work. I backed her at two and a half, but just walked around mostly... trotting as a three year old and started canter this spring when she turned four. I am a featherweight rider. She was sick in the summer with an unknown and random problem that included leg (mostly fetlocks) and udder swelling and a fever sometimes very high. She was treated for Ehrlichiosis, but the tests finally came back negative. Her fever has disappeared though since treatment and the swelling in fetlocks and udders is minimal. It to comes and goes a little but overall it isn't really there anymore...just the hock swelling. I have also noticed...I worked her a little harder this week and yesterday when I rode she was really kicking in the canter transition both directions especially in corners or turns ( riding in a dressage ring a little smaller than a regulation small) Then she started to even suck back in the trot and kick out. She has done this once before when she was first sick this summer. But when I went out on the trail and let her trot whatever speed she wanted ( her preference is big and fast not calm, cool) she had ears forward and was happy as can be. She did not feel or look lame really.. lazy with the hinds when we hand trotted her afterward to look for lameness but no lameness of the limping variety. I am wondering is this a physical problem or an attitude ( she is known for being a bit of a princess and ony wanting to do it her way and being lazy when she doesn't want to do something) I was asking for more collection in the ring and a slower pace than I ask for out on the trail ( I am an eventer and thought I might do a little low level with her as well as possible CTR or endurance) but I am honestly unsure...the swelling makes me think something is up, but with no definate lameness...she steps up and forward...oversteps by a ton...almost too much sometimes...maybe the swelling and attitude are unrelated. Any opinions? I just wanted to get opinions as getting the vets in is a big rigamarole around here as they are over two hours away and you have to get on a waiting list for their Thursday visit that they do a couple times a month. I will trailer her to them though if needed. She is eating, drinking, peeing, pooping fine and I checked her and she does not have a temperature. She is shiny and looks healthy. Thanks for any advice.
