When briefly considering TWH a few years ago, I traveled 3.5 hours to look at a horse and gather information from the breeder.  When I asked if the prospect "parked out" for mounting, he was aghast.  I was told that parking out creates an enormous strain on the spine and that knowledgeable TWH breeders are trying to inform the public of the long-term deleterious effects that are created by this practice--regular parking out for mounting.  I did not confirm this with a vet and am passing this along as something to consider.  I was impressed with this breeder's impeccable attention to detail in his choice of barn materials, paddock safety considerations, etc.  He obviously was a cut above the average amateur breeder.
