Re: [RC] Rider Drugs -Kat - indiancp

kat, while my drugs are mild compared to some mentioned (tyonal daily, celebrex a couple of months a year) i think it a bit unfair for you to say "if I can do it there is no reason that other people can't as well." until YOU have some of the conditions some of these people have you can't fairly judge.
in my own case it's a constant battle to keep my shoulders and my right hand from locking up permanently. rest it? that would be the best way to be permanently crippled. these old joints are gonna keep working no matter what i have to do to keep them going. i only take the celebrex a few months of the year as when the seasons change this would lay me low without it. in some of these conditions it's not a matter of wait it out...if you did you'd be dead before it was better. i don't think i'm a pain wimp as i've had two major surgeries and the nursing staff was amazed that i refused any after surgery pain meds. (leave me alone, let me rest and this will heal.) it's not short term pain that gets you down, it's the constant never ending pain and knowing it won't get better. i can't say i'd take anything that would make me droopy cause that's not living but if a few celebrex and tyonal make me feel like myself then i'm going to swallow them on down. life is our's to live, God gave us people with the intelligence to find things that makes our life better. i thank God for it. i'm sixty five and hoping with my pills i'll be still riding at eighty five!! without them i'd probably now be puttering around the house and watching tv. that "ain't" living.

Subject: [RC] Rider Drugs - apology
I mentioned that I have done thousands of
miles of endurance riding without using any drugs to demonstrate that it
can be done, and if I can do it, there is no reason that other people
can't as well.
