[RC] Old arab blood - Barb Peck

I have a question for the people who study these blood lines and are breeders.

Can a cross bred horse of today- with Crabbet blood (thru RAFTAN) 5
generations back- show the characteristics of that line , even though the blood
is diluted through one-4 generations?

I know genetics are a tricky thing sometimes- so I guess my question is:

How many generations back is it, before a horse can't be a "throw back" to
certain (especially visual
conformational traits)... 3rd, 4th - 5th generation..

Thanks,
Barb
