I'm sorry, but this statement does a serious disservice to those who *have* been diagnosed with depression.  Those "poor depressed souls", as you describe them.  Clinical depression is not a state of mind that can be cured (or prevented) by getting on a horse and riding, or by deciding to just "get over it."  It is an illness that the person needs help, often medical help, to recover from.
