[RC] Acid Wash question - Patsy Davis

I have a 1996 aluminum Hart trailer. It was probably shiny at one time but is very dull now. If I had it acid washed would it be more shiny? Also, it has red and black stripes down the sides and onto the rear doors. Would the acid wash cause these to come off? Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks,
