[RC] Work Schedules - J. Reynolds

Hoping some of you folks that regularly compete in 50/100 mile rides will reply to a little survey.  Are you:

A) retired

B) working 40 hour per week day jobs

C) working part-time jobs

D) Other (please specify as to schedule or # of hours involved)

If working a 40 hour per week or more job, please indicate the number of training hours you put on your horse per week.

A)   Ride only on the weekend(fill in the blank ___ of miles)

B) Ride the weekends & one evening per week (fill in the blank ___ of miles)

C) Ride daily (fill in the blank ___ of miles)

Having been downsized and without work this summer has done wonders for riding my horse and getting some miles on her.  May be going back to work soon working a ten hour shift four days per week.  Wondering if I'll have the hours available to continue increasing our mileage.  I know to have a distance horse takes dedication and WORK.  Would love to hear more about how people do it, how they schedule around work and family demands, and in areas with nasty cold climates how they keep condition during the winter, or do you just wait for the thaw and start over?
