==========================================

Those of you who do both dressage and endurance riding, I have a question. I
only started doing both last year so am new at both sports. I'm running into
some issues when trying to go from a dressage type contact to a more loose rein
endurance/ctr set up. We're only doing intro level walk/trot stuff but I'm
finding that with a looser rein she tends to get faster and faster and I tend
to get more and more tense. I've recently (not with her) had a couple of
accidents that has me feeling less than confident in my abilities which is what
prompted me to start dressage lessons at 41 years old.

Is it possible that we can finally advance to the stage where I can ride with a
loose rein at endurance rides and still remain in control? I do not want to
fight her for 50 miles as that will just tire me out and piss her off. As
she's gotten fitter and fitter, and she was no slouch before either, I'm
finding it more and more difficult to keep her within my comfort zone.
