[RC] historical question - Cindy Collins

This is for us old timers: When did 100 mile rides start using glow
sticks? I know that the first few years I rode endurance, we did not use
any lighting on the night sections...only ribbon/flags. Someone asked me
for the history of when lighting the trail started and I don't remember.
Also, any stories about riding without lighting might be interesting to
the "youngsters" who have never experienced this. Cindy
