With Mike's permission, I wanted to
let everyone know that Mike Riter was involved in a motorcycle wreck yesterday
evening. He is going to be OK but is pretty banged up. He has some facial
fractures, a HUGE black eye, a minor head injury and a broken wrist. I was
there when the neurosurgeon came in. He said Mike's head injury is very minor
and will correct itself very soon. They are going to do some scans on the wrist
today to see if he will need surgery on that. He is coherant but in a lot of
pain. Through the pain med haze, he was able to tell me what happened. Well,
Mike doesn't actually remember the accident, this is what he says the detective
told him that happened. Mike was on Harbins Road(?) going the speed limit when
a minivan pulled out of a driveway right into his path and it was too late to
do anything about it and Mike hit the minivan. The accident is the minivan's
fault.
Jan has asked us not to advertise
which hospital he is in right now. He really needs rest because of the head
injury and she doesn't want a lot of folks calling or coming by. I hope you all
understand her choice.
