[RC] USEF, Tom Johnson & damaging speculation. - Dean A. Conti

John,

Until either the USEF HP Committee or Tom Johnson supply more information in regards to this issue, damaging speculation can be the only result. Would it be possible for you to suggest a more enlightened path to the involved parties?

Subject: [RC]   US Chef d' Equipe Update

A correction to my initial post on this topic:

I have been informed that the action to remove the current Chef d' Equipe was taken at some time prior to the meeting of the USEF HP Endurance Committee yesterday. The action was taken by "USEF Management" and was characterized to the Committee as an incontrovertible "personnel action".

The USEF HP Endurance Committee was asked only to propose a new person to fill the Chef d' Equipe role, not to weigh the merits of the personnel action.

The proposal for replacement was finalized yesterday during the HP Endurance Committee conference call and is to be presented/ratified by the USEF executive committee at a 5pm EDT meeting this afternoon.

USEF representatives have chosen not to comment as to the reason(s) behind the removal of the previous Chef 'd Equipe. No official statements have been released which articulate the motivation of those who requested the personnel action.

While there has been no comment on the matter by USEF personnel, there has been a steady stream of messages directed to USEF personnel from active USEF Endurance Athletes. These statements have overwhelmingly supported of the skills and approach taken by the  previous Chef d' Equipe
