RE: [RC] sheath cleaning - Jim Holland

Hmmmm...my vet did that ONE time.....offered to do it while Sunny was mildly
sedated for some teeth work...and I thought nothing of it...until he charged
my $40 for less than 5 minutes.

That's a 1/2 tank of diesel fuel at current prices.  NO way.

My way is the easiest, although more expensive, I have the vet do it

  If you are not sure how your horse will react to sheath cleaning. 
Have someone pick up the front foot on the same side you are working 
on. I will make it more difficult for him to kick you (I said more 
difficult, not impossible). I would not recommend picking up the 
opposite foot as it is fairly easy for an agile horse to stand on two 
(opposite feet) and still kick.
