Re: [RC] [don] Faster walk by a tail - Don Huston

Hello Beverley,
I use a 9ft nylon rope rein with scissor clips on both ends. I use a standard leather headstall with a grazing bit over a standard nylon halter. When I tail I un-clip from both sides of the bit and clip one end of the rein to the bottom center ring of the halter and keep the other end with me back at the tail. The rein hangs free along the left side of the horse. I have had the horse get away several times but when the rein drags on the ground he always turns sideways away from the rein and stops, ground tied. I found that if the rein gets caught in the stirrup or you flip it up over the saddle and the horse gets away he will not stop right away X;{ .
