RE: [RC] [RC] Horses Keep On Giving - heidi

On the other hand, a Blackhawk is pretty conspicuous--it will also be easily heard and seen.  On the other hand, someone savvy on horseback can be discreet and quiet, and as such can often find activity that might otherwise depart at the sound of the Blackhawk charging along a mere 1000 feet overhead.

I think Jim is right--the two would complement each other very well, and could work well together.

A Blackhawk at 1000 feet with a full day/night sensor complement can see
a hell of a lot farther than anyone on horseback both day and
particularly night. It's pretty much the backbone of the DEA effort find
drugs in FL (and other places). They can act as a repeater for all the
ground based radios and if  the advisory is capable and willing to fire
RPG's you'd be pretty much dead meat out there on a horse ;-) .
