Re: [RC] [RC] Horses Keep On Giving - Truman Prevatt

My breed would be a Blackhawk helicopter with a full sensor complement for both day time and night time (the biggest problem) monitoring and interdiction. Given there is a lot of money being made smuggling across the border (be people on both sides of the border) it will get pretty nasty when the crack down comes. For such operations the calvary was long ago replaced by the air calvary and the horse by the chopper.

This is pretty much what I wrote my senators and congressman. We do already have a few mounted Border Patrol agents in AZ - just need a lot more. There's at least one airport (Houston?) that has a volunteer mounted unit helping with security - could think airports, pipelines, reservoirs, railroad lines. Heck, endurance riders are already out there doing training rides (I'm not advocating "minuteman" but endurance is the sport "made in America") I certainly don't want to start a "breed war" - I think almost any breed of horse that's sensitive to their environment and well conditioned and trained would do well, I felt the idea of the "American" Mustang providing security and helping our soldiers would have a lot of appeal to both politicians and the American public. Certainly, the strong, "go all day" Arab seen in endurance would be a good candidate (as would many others).

I'm not a regular letter writer - but it only took a minute using these
links to send emails to my reps -

http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory?id=2035805&CMP=OTC-RSSFeeds0312 as the
other link didn't work for me)
