Re: [RC] Gaited - Truman Prevatt

It must be difficult coming out of the closet and admitting you are "different" - after all you admit to liking to ride a gaited horse. I wish you all the luck in the world at the Tevis.

In response to questions directed at me, here are some answers: I currently ride foxtrotters, but have done rides on three Walkers and a Spotted Saddle horse. Angie, while it's true that it's hard to diagnose lameness in a gaited horse, most vets never give me a second look. My personal theory is that if they think they see something, I'm gonna ask them exactly what they see, and it's too scary to go there.
I guess it's time to come out of the closet, and I might as well do it right here among my friends on RC. I have been campaigning for two years, and intend to ride, my foxtrotter mare, Sugar, at Tevis this year. She has top fived, top tenned and done the 20 Mule Team 100, all with a heavyweight rider. She has 900 miles now, has never taken a lame step, and is the sweetest thing on four legs. Wish us luck.
As long as I'm confessing, I'll admit that the rumors are true. I'm a flaming heterosexual. There. I said it. It feels so good to finally admit that in public. Dr Q world renowned closet dweller
