[RC] Non-Arabs in Endurance - Carolyn Burgess

Most people who use non-Arabs in this sport realize that they have to choose the horse carefully and maybe monitor them more closely.  We often learn more than our counterparts riding Arabs because we have to in order for our horses to perform well and be safe and healthy.  I am often concerned when statements like the one below are thrown out because in the wrong hands, you can run an Arab into the ground.  Is it easier to do this sport with an Arab, I'll give you a yes on that.  Will you learn as much about managing your horse through a ride on an Arab and a non-Arab, maybe not.

In Endurance, which is an extreme sport anyway, the Arabian excels....I don't think there is any disagreement on this point.
