Re: [RC] linking of pedigrees - Michael MaulThe best way I can suggest is to find the Information Technology person at the registry of interest and show them a sample of what we do with AHA http://tinyurl.com/p7uox then ask whether they are interested in doing the same thing. On the AHA side - their members can click on an achievements link for the horse and see the records from the AERC site. There's a good number of hours involved on their side in setting up the interface but we can tell them what needs to be done. It can be simpler if they don't want a display on their end. For Standardbreds - there were 38 entries out of 23,000 total last year. These were done by 11 riders. For APHA - we have a Paint category in which there were 102 entries by 30 riders on 26 different horses i n 2005. I have a contact at the USTA. How would someone like me, who is willing to make the connection to a person at the breed organization, get the USTA and AERC to talk to make this happen? I think that the reason it hasn't happened with other breed organizations is that no one who could help knew that anything needed to be done to make it happen.
