RE: [RC] saddle fitting experts - Mary KraussGood luck with your saddle search. I'm still loving my Freeform saddle, particularly because it really does fit every horse I've tried it on. I can't attest to its effectiveness over the long haul because I haven't been able to ride any one horse for very long distances yet for all sorts of irritating reasons--arthritis, EPSM, youth, blah, blah, blah.... But I'm hopeful the saddle will continue to suit me and my horses.FYI, I discovered a saddle-fitter in our area who also demoed County saddles. The cool thing about County saddles is the company's distribution method: because they're sold by certified fitters (who've arrived at their decision to represent the company after being trained in completely unrelated programs), you nearly always wind up with a great-fitting saddle. My County Competitor is terrific because I could try all the styles and was able to choose one that suited me before having it fitted to my horse. The best part is that I found the saddle I'd chosen on eBay for half the demo price--the fitter had no problem with my purchasing the saddle elsewhere. She fitted it to my horse for $25.00 even though she had to trek over 45 minutes to get my house. Out of gratitude I bought my girth and leathers through her.... Good luck--I had a blast looking once I'd committed to the notion of buying a new saddle--there are so many cool options out there!
