Re: [RC] Washing String/Mohair Girths - bluwolf@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Quoting rdcarrie@xxxxxxx:

Anyone have suggestions for what to use to wash string/mohair girths to get them nice and soft? I've tried a number of things, but nothing seems to get them really soft. Any ideas?

Dawn,

I don't "use" anything on my mohair girths. I brush them off with a soft brush, then soak & agitate in plain water. Then I change the water & repeat. I let them drip dry out of the sun. To soften them after drying, I lightly brush them with a soft brush or simply rub them on themselves.

I don't trust soap of softeners against the horse's skin. I've had too many who were way to sensitive in the girth area.
