Re: [RC] Spring fever in January - rdcarrie

Yes, it's dry, dry, dry, here in Texas.  But on the upside, the National Forest is so dry that there's nowhere we can't ride...places that are normally too boggy during the winter are perfectly dry.  :)  Great for exploring.  But, we're farther south (an hour or so north of Houston) and have not been plagued with the terrible fires that have threatened so many farther north...

I hear you - and I have friends in Texas that are desperately needing rain!  We're way behind here on snow, had two very dry months in Nov. and Dec. and the snowpack is dwindling.  Bad news for next year's water supply!

And here on the CA coast, it's raining.....AGAIN.  Trails are a mess, and those that aren't blocked by downed trees are too slippery and muddy to ride.

Hey everybody,

It's a sunshiny and calm day here, perfect for riding.  It's a strange winter so far...very dry, we sure could use some snow.

As a certified newbie, I'm looking forward to going to my first endurance ride, so please be assured I'm one of the many (I'm sure most) newbies who appreciate all the advice, friendliness, and years of experience on this list.  Rest assured I won't be trying to break any speed records, well, maybe I will, for slowest speed on record for a first 50... and believe me, I can do it!

Thanks, and Happy New Year to all -
