The purpose of feet forward is to push your seat down and back. Its really
your bum that
you want to be the heaviest part of your body. On balance it might seem
counter intuitive,
but if you feel like you are falling to one side, lift the leg on the side
to which you are falling.
This will make you butt heavier and rebalance you.

And then, take that hip around. Get control of the hindquarters and you have
control of the horse
