[RC] Riding Alone - WRSINOSKY

Barbara mentioned a certain incident in a recent post:

"I felt I was being polite in staying behind her and she felt I was drafting off her horse.? She spoke brusquely to me saying that if I was going to ride with her, I had to do my
share of leading.? I was dumbfounded, as my only reason for staying behind her was courtesy."

IMO I think this happens more than we all realize.  There have been times when I've stayed with the people I've come upon, assuming I am being courteous by not forging on ahead.  I would be (or am) truly embarrassed to discover they may have been annoyed by my presence and too polite to say something.  So, SAY SOMETHING!  I'm not real good at reading other people's minds.  If you tell me (preferably politely), I'll go away with no hard feelings.
