Re: [RC] Is my horse off? PS - Susan

Not only is checking metabolic parameters preferred, it's required!  It's all part of the "Fit to Continue" rule.

The soundness rule says on the straight out and back.  Circles at the vet in???  We need to teach our vets the rules!

Personal pet peeve...a 0 on soundness for BC!!  GRRRR!  A Grade 1 intermittent on circles only one way...and a 0 after 75 miles?  That's just wrong!  But, that's just part of our sport.

P.S. I *do* prefer they check gut sounds, etc thoroughly at the finish.
Recently had a vet who was making people trot CIRCLES to VET IN the night
before the ride, but at the finish line he didn't check gut sounds.
That's a little extreme in both directions.
