[RC] GCTC - Osborne Hill Acquisition Wins Support - Sherman

Here's a good example of what can happen when trail users work together for a common goal.....
GCTC member, John Gardiner (BONC - Bicyclists of Nevada County) passes along the outcome of a recent meeting concerning Osborne Hill & Empire Mine State Park:

Osborne Hill Acquisition Wins Support

On Tuesday, the Nevada County Board of Supervisors unanimously voted to support the acquisition of a parcel on Osborne Hill as part of Empire Mine State Park! Funds to buy this parcel would come from
Prop 50 money and is still contingent on a successful grant application.

Many members of the community showed up an voiced support for this proposal, including hikers, equestrains, bikers and others. Sometimes, trail advocacy seems like an obscure, thanksless activity. And then there are times like this when we are profoundly reminded why it is all completely worth it :-)

Now the grant application process continues. You can help by making a donation to the
Rural Quality Foundation. (PO Box 1346, Nevada City, CA 95959). Note that you want your contibution to help the cost of authoring and submitting this grant (which costs thousands of dollars to have written).
