Hi Cowboy Ed, changing diagonal (or not) does make a diff. If your weight is always rising/falling on the same side, the horse will compensate & muscle up more on one side than other. I've definately seen it cause dog-tracking which could (did in at least 1 case) make the horse lame over time. (Only 3-4 year span of crooked riding---really shortened a career.)
