While they make far from "minimum" wage, they also make far from $66 an
hour.  Here in an interesting perspective on what is cost the farrier to
shoe one horse:

I just know that the fuel, supplies (shoes, tools, etc.) insurance (truck
and health), and travel time to GET to the next job need to be figured in.
When I look at that, and how hard on their bodies this kind of work can be,
I figure most are doing it pretty cheap. But most of us just look at how
much it cost us, and how long they were there. And good ones make it look
fairly easy.......
