The farrier some of us use is a wonderful guy and does an excellent
job. We keep up with his family (young twins and school age son now), and
enjoy chatting with him about a lot of things. He is very, very devoted to
his kids and wife.......so......one year we all pitched in and got a gift
certificate for a very nice restaurant where he could take his wife for a nice
dinner (without kids) for a night out....
I guess I do tip my
farrier in a different way. He's been charging $25 for a trim for years and
have told him he needs to raise it to $30, but he won't.
I pay him $30 for the
trims anyway, so in a way he's getting tipped I guess.:)
Now, out for a
ride!!!!

Farrier??
I haven't tipped my farier with money, but I certainly tell him how very
much we appreciate the quality of his work, his ability to handle horses and
his unfailing promptness. He's the only horse shoer we've ever had who
always arrives on time.
My daughter, the domestic diva, has baked him pies as a thank you and I
have given him an enlargement of a cute photo of his daughter - she was
squatted baby fashion at a vet check examining rocks.
