Re: [RC] Courbette Kurfurst Von Bayern Endurance Saddles - Milinda Ellis

Dana,

I climbed all over one at the local
(relatively-speaking) tack shop. When I sat on it I
just kinda sank into it. It was extremely comfortable
-- especially since I had a dislocated tailbone at the
time... As a matter of fact, it's the only saddle I
'could' sit on at that time. I normally ride in a
dressage saddle, too and the position was very similar
(bearing in mind I was sitting on it on one of those
horseback-shaped plastic things you see in tack shops.
If I could afford to get several in assorted tree
widths, I'd do it (but I have a variety of horses to
fit). It felt very secure to me (I could get a good
grip) and I'm not the best rider in the world...

BTW, I'm in saddle-fitting hell right now, myself!
Picture a 16.2h picnic table with pronounced
withers...

Email me privately if you have any more questions.

I'd like to get opinions from anyone using (or who
has used) a
Courbette Kurfurst Von Bayern Endurance Saddle. I
have had
trouble fitting my narrow Arab. My Wintec Pro
Dressage (with
CAIR)seems to sore his back on long rides. Tried
treeless,
couldn't keep the saddle from sliding back and it
rubbed his
loins. Right now, I am using my old synthetic
western, but
it's not the greatest fit and I prefer an english
type saddle.
I like the look of this saddle but know very little
about it.

Thanks in advance,
Dana
