does your vet charge you a farm call?

my vet does the rabies, coggins and IN flu/rhino. i do not do IN
strangles, lost a horse to a horrible adverse reaction to that
vaccine, so...i not longer do it or trust fort dodge vaccines. anywho.

i do not do combo vaccines, cuz if my horses have a reaction i want to
make sure i know what they reacted too, and with combos, you have no
way of knowing.

so..for me....if i have to pay for a farm call for each vaccine, it
would add up fast, as my vet charges $45 for farm call. or i could
haul them to my vet....which is a 60 miles round trip...and pay for
the gas (my truck only gets 6 mpg). either way, it's a huge added
expense.  for me...it's cheaper to buy the vaccines from my vet and
give them myself.

i do know ...that if you do have a horse that has a adverse reaction
to an vaccine the vaccine maker will make up their product, IF...the
vet administers it, but not if the owner gave it.

now...this year i have a mini mare and i have no idea how i will give
her the vaccines, as she is so tiny. haha!! i'm going to have to get
down on my knees to give her the vaccines in her little neck.
