Lori – Having skiied most of my life, and having only learned to ride in the last few years, I found one of the best horse tips came from a ski instructor.  When I got timid on a steep hill, causing an awkward stance and graceless maneuvering, my ski instructor told me, “You gotta commit to the hill.”  Go with gravity, go with the flow, don’t hold back.

When I was nervous about riding at speed, learning to post at a fast trot, canter, and then to gallop, and also to ride up and down steep hills, those words inspired and instructed me. “Commit to the horse” (or you will hinder and unbalance both of you).
