[RC] Diceman update - Tracey Lomax

Title: Diceman update

After his temperature hit 40.7C last night, I said something along the lines of sexual intercourse homeopathy and gave him some Bute.  Within 45 minutes, his temperature was down, he was eating, and looking brighter.  Before the bute, he was starting to stagger, and to panic, and wanted to go down.  No eating, no drinking.

We monitored him through the night, Roderick and I taking shifts to temp him and dose him with the homeopathic mixture.  He was much better and this morning at 6 when I peered over his door, he was gobbling up his breakfast and gave me a whaaat.Im eating!!! look.

I have spoken to Dougie Welsh, the chairman on the AHS Trust, who says that this type of fine-not-fine behaviour is the norm.  They lost a horse with similar symptoms to Dice yesterday, that horses temp spiked four times before he gave up the fight, so Im not going to keep putting Dice through it.  I believe that the increased fever weakens him and and his vital organs.  I need him strong and fit to fight this.

Im getting some dagga (marijuana) from a friend today, as Dougie says hes seen some phenomenal results with it, it really seems to work at alleviating fluid build-up and fever.  Im now kicking myself that we pulled and burnt the stuff that was growing naturally on my manure heap!

Im sitting in court waiting for my roll to finish so I can go back home.

Thanks everyone who emailed privately I will respond when I can.  The support and encouragement means more than I can tell you.

Regards,

Tracey, Roderick and Diceman
