[RC] Swaybacked horses - Sherman

My neighbor's taking care of his teenage daughter's two horses, one a mature Arab mare, the other a 4 yr old out of the mare. Both are very swaybacked and the youngster isn't even under saddle. I don't think I've ever seen a young swaybacked horse before, so was wondering if the condition can be totally hereditary or is it more likely that the teenager had been trying to ride the colt when he was waaay too young?? The 4yr old is by Fire n Ice and the girl is disappointed with him because she thought she'd get a palomino, but he's a chestnut. Just curious....
