Re: [RC] Looking for overnight boarding in Pensacola, FL area / Coldwater Stables - Christina Schiro

Christy, I live in Pensacola. Yes, you must go to the Coldwater Recreation Area and Stables located within the Blackwater River State Forest in Milton. It's run by the FL Division of Forestry. Address is 8049 Horseshoe Loop, Milton, FL if you want to look it up on MapQuest. It's about 1/2 hour northeast of Pensacola. They have 69 electric/water partially shady campsites along Coldwater Creek. There are a few sites with RV sewage connections. There is a bathhouse with hot showers, flush toilets, and electric outlets. There are 72 stalls with water, lights, and tack areas and 60 covered and uncovered corrals with water. There is a large dining hall and full commerical-size kitchen, large covered pavilion, cement wash racks, 1 acre grass pasture for temporary turnout (20 min max at a time), place to dump manure and wheelbarrows, free shavings, dumpsters, and dump station. And there are at least 30+ miles of trails. Check ed's email below for the phone #.
If you want a private barn to stay at, more in the Pensacola area, I can check around for you.
