Re: [RC] OT-finding dead horse - Barbara McCrary

If I lost a horse, I would much rather know it was found dead than never knowing what happened to it at all.  My recommendation would be to go to your nearest feed store, sheriff, or some such place that one might go to report their missing horse, and tell these agencies you found a dead horse and where.  If no one claims to have lost a horse, at least you did what you could.

Subject: [RC] OT-finding dead horse

I've been riding in a pretty rugged area lately and last Thursday found a dead horse.  I'm sure I'm not the only one that this has happened to.  What would you RC'ers do in that situation? I did call a couple of "horsey" friends in that area, but they didn't seem to know any reports of lost horses.  My husband says to just say nothing because "nobody wants to know that their horse was found dead".  I disagree.  I would certainly want to know what happened to my horse if this every happened to me
