[RC] hoof landing?definitive answer? - Laurie Durgin

No one is allowed to start a foot war......;0)
But....is there a definitive , agreed upon, answer---or research ---and by whom---and can I read it----about whether a horses foot should land toe first or heel first. I have found some saying heel first---- then others saying heel first----arrrggghhhh!!!!!
Has anyone got any proof whether it SHOULD land one way or another for long term soundness--- irregardless of shoes or barefoot?

Had the same thing about heel height--- some say heels are too low and a horse should be given 'more heel', others saying heels too high cause lameness.....

I am beginning to think no one really knows..... and since no one keeps their horses long enough to really find out.....

And is anyone knows of a discipline or research that is long term with a group of horses that stayed sound with the feet a certain way, sure would like to know....
