In my estimation, more horses have made riders, than riders have made
horses...the greatest "endurance blood" can sure be "thinned out" by
inexperienced  riders, at all levels.

That is so true, Frank!  The greatest blood can't achieve without a rider,
but even the best rider can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.  It
takes ALL the factors to be a success--genetics, environment, and a rider
that knows how to do it.
