[RC] Guns - WRSINOSKY

While it is certainly not a subject any of us care to discuss, Ed brought up the issue of where to place the shot when putting a horse down.

I am not an expert on this and would never want to be, but I have been called upon   where it was the kindest act I could offer a suffering horse. I used my .38, held it very close to the center of the imaginary "X" and also slightly tilted the barrel upward so when I fired the gun, the bullet traveled directly up into the brain. Death was instantaneous.

Now, some people will say, "Oh! I could never..."  I really didn't think I could do it either, but when it came time, I felt almost a sense of relief to have helped end the horse's suffering.
