[RC] the big argument about barefoot boils down to this - - Jonni

But what you are saying here is that the ride does come first. At least
you are saying that the ride comes before being barefoot. You have decided
your horse will be an endurance horse.<<<

Well wait a min. not everyone is choosing BETWEEN barefoot and endurance.
Some have no problems with shoes, feel shoes are what horses should have
done, be the horse an endurance horse, or Western Pleasure show horse. Not
everyone chooses shoes because they feel their horse can't go barefoot, some
just feel shoes are part of the equipment. Many horse owners, who have had
horses all their lives, have been having their horses shod for as long as
they have had horses. It is just what they have done. They are not choosing
to not do the barefoot thing, as it is just something they have never
considered. Why would they, if things have worked well for them all this
time? And these are not clueless backyard horse owners. You will find this
across the board from folks with their first and only horse, to those who
have been making a living raising and training horses for a life time in all
disciplines.

Oh, and as far as those who do choose to have their horse as an "endurance
horse" over a barefoot horse......well, this IS an endurance list. <wink>
